Taiwan Entry Update: TWAC Declaration Required for All Travelers from October 1, 2025

Starting from October 1, 2025, all travelers entering Taiwan, including Vietnamese tourists, will be required to complete an online arrival declaration via the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) system. This new regulation aims to streamline airport procedures and enhance border control efficiency.

What is TWAC?

TWAC (Taiwan Arrival Card) is an online arrival declaration system managed by Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency. Previously, travelers were required to fill out a paper form upon arrival. Beginning October 2025, all short-term visitors must submit their arrival information online before departure.

🔍 Highlights of the new system:

  • User-friendly interface
  • Supports Vietnamese and 6 other languages
  • Group declaration available for up to 16 people
  • Automatically extracts information from passport photo
  • Fast confirmation via email with a QR code for immigration procedures

👤 Who is required to submit the TWAC?

  • All international travelers entering Taiwan
  • Individuals holding short-term visas or entering visa-free
  • Visitors without a Taiwanese residence card

Who is exempt from the TWAC declaration?

  • Holders of Taiwanese residence cards (ARC, APRC, Gold Card, etc.)
  • Holders of diplomatic ID cards issued by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

📌 How to submit your TWAC:

  • Visit the official website: https://twac.immigration.gov.tw
  • Complete the declaration within 3 days prior to your arrival in Taiwan
  • Receive an email confirmation and a QR code to present during entry procedures

👉 Note: Failure to submit the TWAC in advance may result in denied entry or extended processing time at immigration counters.

✈️ Taiwan remains a captivating destination, but don’t forget this new requirement to ensure a smooth and seamless journey!
